Welcome to the Cornerstone Apartments Application Process

Thank you for considering Cornerstone Apartments for your new home. Please read through the following guidelines carefully before starting your application. If you have any questions or do not meet these requirements, please contact us before proceeding. Ensure you are applying to the correct unit.

Important Steps and Information:
  1. Select Your Move-In Date:
    • Your move-in date is the day you will receive your keys and start paying rent.
    • Changes to the move-in date after applying may affect your rent amount.

  2. Closed Dates:
    • We are CLOSED on the following dates. If your move-in date falls on one of these, you will need to select a different date, and your rent may change.
      • Monday, May 27th
      • Friday, July 3rd
      • Monday, September 2nd
      • Thursday, November 28th (Thanksgiving)
      • Friday, November 29th
      • Thursday, December 24th
      • Friday, December 25th
      • Friday, January 1st, 2027

  3. Application Fee and Background Checks:
    • A full credit and criminal background check will be conducted on all applicants and guarantors. The fee is $50 per person.
    • If you have a credit freeze with Experian, remove it before submitting your application.

  4. Approval Process:
    • Upon approval, a Cornerstone representative will contact you to confirm your approval and move-in date. No changes to the move-in date will be allowed after this confirmation.
    • All lease agreements must be signed within 5 days (120 hours) of application submission and holding fee payment. Failure to do so will result in cancellation and the unit being placed back on the market. Application fees and holding fees are non-refundable if all information is not provided within the deadline.

  5. Income Requirements:
    • We accept income sources, including vouchers.
    • Gross Income (before taxes) is considered
    • The holding fee does not apply to the deposit or move-in costs.
    • Income must be 2 times the rent amount per month. If not, a co-signer with an income of 5 times the rent is required. Combined income for roommates must be 2 times the rent amount per month. Applicants not meeting these requirements will not be approved.
    • All roommates and co-signers must be added during the application submission. Failure to provide information for all parties within 24 hours of the initial application may result in cancellation. The application fee is non-refundable.

  6. Required Documents:
    • Submit your 2 most recent pay stubs showing your name, employer’s name, pay period, and earnings.

  7. Debt and Insurance Requirements:
    • Delinquent debt over $5,000 (excluding medical or educational) will result in automatic denial. Debt under $5,000 may require a higher deposit and/or a guarantor.
    • Renter’s Insurance is mandatory. Proof of policy is required to receive keys.
